Effective concentration and conditions for ozone disinfection
Air disinfection ozone concentration: 5 mg/m3~30 mg/m3, relative humidity ≥70%, the effect will be 30~120min.
Object surface disinfection: ozone concentration should be ≥60 mg/m3, relative humidity ≥70%, action time of 60 min~ 120 min.
When using ozone water to disinfect the surface of the object: the concentration of ozone in the water should be ≥10 mg/L, and the action time should be ≥60 min.
The disinfection effect should meet the following standards:
Air disinfection
When ozone disinfector is used for air disinfection, it should meet the following requirements: kill microorganism index when disinfecting air
Water disinfection
When used for water disinfection, ozone disinfector should meet the following standards:
Indicators for killing microorganisms when disinfecting water
Disinfect medical instruments and supplies
Ozone disinfectants used for disinfecting medical instruments and supplies should meet the following standards: Disinfecting microorganisms during medical instruments and supplies
Surface disinfection
Ozone disinfector used for object disinfection, should meet the following standards: disinfection of the surface of the object to kill microorganisms index
Validation guide
When disinfecting, close the corresponding fresh air inlet and return air discharge valve, so that the whole disinfected clean area air circulates through the air duct of the purification system, and the ozone generator begins to work. Such as daily air sterilization, generally open 1 ~ 1.5h; Such as weekly ozone instead of chemical reagent fumigation on the surface of objects, walls, ground and equipment sterilization, generally can be switched on 2 ~ 2.5h.
The concentration of ozone sterilization was (2 ~4)×10^-6 (2 ~4ppm) for planktonic bacteria in the air. (10 ~15)×10^-6 (10 ~15ppm)
Design and application of ozone sterilization for 60min to reach the relative concentration, continue to hold for a period of time (1 ~ 1.5h), can achieve the purpose of killing machine equipment and building surface settlement bacteria.
The use of Ozone Gas is another alternative for gassing small or large scale operations. Ozone is made by adding high voltage to oxygen. The system uses a high concentration of ozone gas that bintegrates a gas generator to emit the Ozone to the area to be decontaminated. Normally the design specifications for the system included an ozone gas concentration of 200 ppm or more, relative humidity of 80% or more, and a treatment time that is determined by the size of the area, the inherent bioburden and the obstructions contained within the area. These systems have been employed in many industry settings and are now being considered as a possible alternative for GMP operations.
